THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE IN THE GREAT LAKES

Filming access to health services, information, and contraceptives

In Rwanda and DRC sexual violence, unwanted pregnancies, and overpopulation have been sources of tension and conflict for decades. Visual Development made a documentary about the positive impact that access to sexual and reproductive health services can have in the next generations of African youth.

THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE IN RWANDA

Young people speak up against sexual violence and unwanted pregnancies

Visual Development visited schools, health centers and rural communities in Rwanda, collecting local young people’s experiences facing sexual violence and unwanted pregnancies. We interviewed teenagers, teachers, nurses, peer educators and local authorities to document the efforts that Rwandan society is placing to grant a healthier future for its next generation.
