Visualizing the access to quality services in healthcare, education, security and justice

Every citizen around the world should be guaranteed the right to access basic quality services. This need is more urgently felt for those who live in fragile areas where trust in government institutions is often minimal. In this series of films we present Results Based Financing a method that helps restore this trust by making institutions such as schools, hospitals and courts accountable for their performances, as it links payments to results.

Filming Results Based Financing in Education

When students, parents and teachers say “This is our school! We have to protect it and help improve it”, a sustainable impact in education has been achieved. We travelled to rural schools in DRC Congo to show how families, school managers and local authorities are using RBF to improve equal access to school for boys and girls; and increase the quality of their education.

In this film we explain how RBF works when applied to healthcare. Through graphic animations, interviews and footage of people’s daily lives we describe the links established between donors, national health ministry, health care providers, clinics and patients in order to engage communities and make the access to healthcare more efficient, transparent and inclusive.

DO YOU TRUST THE POLICE?

Filming Results Based Financing in Security & Justice

We travelled to rural DR Congo and filmed the Provincial Minister of Security, the Peace Tribunal Prosecutor, police officers, community representatives and the Administrator of the province to find out if people can trust the security and justice services they have at reach. As a result we got a picture of how RBF is trying to reinforce state institutions in this area.
